Bethany Convent School Limboi

The Champion School Bethany

Education for the fullness of life

History

Bethany Convent School, English Medium located in Limboi, Vadgam, Banaskantha district, Gujarat, was established in June 2008. The school was a response to the pressing demand for an English medium school in the Vadgam Taluk area.

Sr M Veena Crasta BS was the first Principal, while Sr M Leena Pereira BS served as the Manager. The first teachers were Sr M Loyline BS and Sr M Regina D’Souza BS.

The school is situated in the Northern part of Gujarat, in a village called Limboi, 5 km away from Vadgam town. Initially, the school began with just 8 students in a small house where the sisters resided.

The school serves the local community, predominantly comprising scheduled castes and scheduled tribes who rely on daily wages for their livelihood. Additionally, there are people from higher castes, such as Chaudharys, Patels, and Rajputts, who are agriculturalists and economically poor due to their dependence on timely rainfall.

Bethany Convent School strives to educate these underprivileged children. To cater to the needs of students from far-flung villages, the sisters opened the Puspalaya Girls Hostel in 2009. Rev Fr Isidor Alemeida, the then Parish Priest, inaugurated the Adarsh Boys Hostel. The school was later shifted to the Puspalaya Girls Hostel and subsequently to a new school building, which was inaugurated on October 1, 2013.

he subsequent batches of students have maintained this excellent record, with 100% results in the Board examinations. Presently, the school has 180 students from KG to 10th Standard, comprising 115 boys and 65 girls. The school has 15 teaching staff and 3 non-teaching staff.

Bethany Convent School provides value-based education, founded on the principles of national integration, respect, and appreciation for India’s diverse culture. The school offers various facilities, including:

– Computer and science labs

– Library and audio-visual learning

– Club activities and outdoor and indoor games

Students from the school have participated in various competitions, including district-level science fests, state-level basketball tournaments, Kabbadi tournaments, athletics, Kho Kho and have brought recognition to the school. Additionally, children participate in karate classes, and the school organizes annual science exhibitions, debate competitions, and other extracurricular activities to foster the overall development of the child.

Currently, the school is situated between Limboi and Rupal villages, surrounded by fields. In 2017, the school was registered for the SSC Board Examination and received its Index Number 60.545. The first batch of 14 students appeared for the examination and achieved a remarkable 100% result, setting a golden standard for the school.
